FinGuard (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the FinGuard mobile application (“App”).
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

  • Email (used for local account creation)

  • Profile picture (optional)

  • Password (stored securely on device using Keychain/Keystore encryption)

Financial Information

  • Expense and income records

  • Categories and budgets

  • Receipt images (optional)

  • Notes and descriptions

  • Locally generated financial reports

Device Information

  • Theme preference

  • Currency settings

  • Notification settings

Media Access

  • Photos or camera access only when you choose to upload or capture a receipt.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only for App functionality:

  1. Manage expenses, budgets, and financial records

  2. Provide receipt scanning (on-device OCR)

  3. Generate financial summaries and reports

  4. Secure login using local authentication

  5. Provide personalization settings

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or tracking.

3. Data Storage & Security

Local-Only Storage

  • All data (financial records, receipts, user profile) is stored only on your device using the Realm local database.

  • Data never leaves your device unless you export it manually.

Security Measures

  • Passwords secured using Keychain/Keystore

  • Encryption applied to sensitive data

  • Optional biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID / Fingerprint)

Data Retention

  • Your data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.

  • You can delete all data at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

FinGuard does not share data with any third-party APIs, services, or servers.
FinGuard does not use:

  • AdMob

  • Analytics

  • Crash reporting

  • Cloud OCR

  • External databases

On-Device OCR Only

Receipt scanning is processed entirely on your device.
No receipt images are uploaded or shared externally.

5. Data Sharing

We do not:

  • Sell your data

  • Share your data

  • Send your data to any external server

  • Use your data for marketing or advertising

We may disclose data only if required by law.

6. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access your financial data

  • Export your data (CSV / PDF / JSON)

  • Delete your account and all data

  • Update your profile information

  • Disable biometric authentication

How to Exercise

Open Settings → Data & Backup in the App.

7. Children’s Privacy

FinGuard is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Updates will be published in:

  • The Privacy Policy link inside the App

  • The public Privacy Policy webpage

Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
